Match Report

Knockers staggered to a losing draw on Sunday away to Rumwood, primarily tanks to some staunch resistance from the tail.

Rumwood, put into bat, benefited from first use of a particularly uneven wicket that deteriorated as the game progressed. Their 176-9 was well earnt in the face of testing spells from L Spencer-Allen (2-19), K Cowan (2-23) and A Spencer-Allen (1-17), well supported by a stunning diving catch from Peter Smith.

In reply Knockers lost opener C Spencer-Allen second ball and P Styles shortly after. Despite some middle order resistance from P Seldon (27) and G Miller (21), it was left to the experienced pair of K Cowan and A Darry to see the Knockers through the final 10 overs to record a draw.
