KNOCKERS WIN – KNOCKERS 191/4 BEAT TONBRIDGE 129 a/o
Knockers produced another strong performance to despatch Tonbridge. The Knockers batsman shared the runs in reaching a good but nonetheless achievable target. The elegant Tom Cobb was the pick of the bunch with 44 and Guthrie Miller (24), Geoff Smith (25), Tom Watts (31 n/o) and Dan Turner (36 n/o) all made excellent contributions. T. Hoey took 2/22.
The Knockers bowlers then got to work as the blistering heat subsided. Key breakthroughs were made by the father and son spin team of the Andy (3-16) and Ted Darry (2-39) as the Tonbridge men tried to hit out. Guthrie Miller (3-5) and Dan Turner (1-0) then stepped in to clean up the tail. Knockers were delighted to get back to their winning ways after an excruciating defeat to the Old Oaks on Friday.
Another mile-stone for the skipper - congrats - 100 career wickets - and, oh, let the real bowlers weep!
